Do you need a shortcut to passing your driving test? Learn to drive with confidence in an automatic car.
Let’s be honest, not everyone is bestowed with a natural ability to drive. Learning to drive in an automatic car can give you an edge and make it easier to get through your driving test. But there are many other reasons why learning to drive in an automatic car might be the right choice for you.
You may:
- Suffer from dyslexia.
- Have learning difficulties.
- Have a physical disability.
- Be very nervous.
- Struggle to get to grips with gears and clutch control.
- Just need to get your licence quickly.
You are allowed to take your driving test in an automatic car but of course this would mean that your driving licence would only cover you to drive automatic cars.
Learning to drive in our specially adapted car with automatic gears (transmission) is a lot easier than driving a car with gears because there is no clutch pedal to operate. So your left foot should not be used at all, you should use your right foot to operate the accelerator (gas) pedal and the brake pedal. After you have selected drive with the gear selector the automatic gearbox changes the gears for you, then foot on the accelerator and of you go. It’s as easy as that!
You can of course get your automatic licence, then when you are feeling more confident in the future, train and take your test in a manual car to upgrade your licence.
