The Hoot Hoot story so far...
Hoot Hoot Driving School was founded by Kevin & Margaret Hooton in 2006. Their vision was to run a driving school which not only promoted quality driving tuition second to none, but also one which nurtured and cared for its driving instructors by giving them the tools and training required to improve their skills and give them pride in their chosen profession.
Kevin Hooton became a driving instructor in 2001 and has loved every minute. He loves driving and is passionate about making the roads safer. He is an experienced ADI, ADI trainer, accredited taxi driver trainer and member of the IAM , NTTA , DIA , MSA. He was the founder of his local driving instructor’s association MADIA which he ran very successfully as Chairman for two years before stepping down to spend more time developing Hoot Hoot Driving School. Not one to sit idle he has recently accepted a position as Vice-Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Driving Instructor's Group DING. Margaret previously worked in management for a large corporate company before embarking on a successful dog behavioural career until their daughter Niamh arrived. Margaret now works behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly.
Our mission
Hoot Hoot Driving School’s mission is to promote competent, high level, skillful driving tuition to all those wishing to learn to drive.
Hoot Hoot Driving Instructors undergo a programme of Continued Professional Development to ensure they are kept up to date with the latest training techniques and their core competencies as driving instructors are enhanced and improved, to ensure their teaching skills are the best in the market place.
Taking further training can bring rapid improvements to a driving instructor's teaching performance. After all, the better the tuition, the quicker you learn to drive and pass your test, thus saving you money in the long run.
Of course we realise our pupils aren't really interested whether our driving instructors are a grade 4, 5 or 6. But what we do know, is that they are impressed with our professional approach, confidence in our ability to teach, and knowledge of our job and industry. All of which comes as a direct result of Hoot Hoot Driving School making the time and effort to develop our instructors through continued professional development.
